Why You Aren’t Achieving Your Goals

I can’t do anything when my daughter is awake. I’m tired. I’ve worked hard, I deserve a break. Excuses, excuses, excuses – that is what I was full of. It’s amazing how easy it is to rationalize laziness, lack of focus, or complacency. We live in such an entitled society that it’s hard to do what’s necessary to obtain our dreams.

Success is doing what other people are not willing to do in order to live a life other people will not get to live (hybrid quote of Rory Vaden and Dave Ramsey). When everyone else is unwinding, watching their favorite sitcoms, other people are doing what’s necessary to live an extraordinary life. I’m not saying never watch TV; but realize what TV is: time away from working on your goals. It’s an opportunity cost. It’s costing you whatever is the next best thing you could be doing. Instead of watching TV, maybe it’s time to live it (unless it’s Shark Week).
